Meeting on the Evaluation of Social Cash Transfer Schemes in Africa

Hosted by the Center for Global Health and Development and sponsored by USAID, evaluators, policymakers, and representatives from various donor and technical agencies gathered in Washington DC to discuss the state of evaluations of cash transfer schemes in Africa in an effort to

1) Improve evaluations (which may include developing more rigorous study designs, ensuring that the right questions are asked, that data be high quality, and that results be presented in a manner that policymakers can use) and
2) Better connect evaluators and policymakers to encourage evidence-based decision making around social protection policies
